NIK NIK is the studio practice of Nicole Neu, a West Coast artist and interior stylist formed by fifteen years in Los Angeles and an endless curiosity for natural materials and finding objects. NIK NIK was a childhood nickname, given by her aunt and adapted for its playful echo of knick knacks and the small handmade things worth holding onto. It was a name that would grow to inform future work.
That impulse to collect and hold onto things has been there since childhood, a pull toward objects with interesting forms and honest patina, things that carry the clear touch of a hand and the feeling of a place they came from. It shaped the way Neu styles interiors, the way she travels, and eventually the things she began making herself. That curiosity found its home in objects that live closer to the everyday, meant to be held, used and lived with.
The ceramics and functional wares sold here share the same philosophy as Neu's sculptural work. Organic materials, handbuilt forms, nothing wasted, nothing forced. Each piece carries the mark of how it was made, irregularities are not corrected, fingerprints stay.
